Yeah, I have very little doubt that the current approach to diagnosing autism will not hold over the coming decades—esp will all the forthcoming neuroscience and genetic research looking at differences between different types of brains (and bodies—thinking here about the EDS, POTS, and SPD overlaps with autism). I am really curious to see if people presenting with AuDHD symptoms end up being diagnosed with their "own" neurotype, as well as people with above-average IQs/academic abilities. (Though I admittedly need to learn much more about IQ, because I've picked up enough online to have a strong sense that it's a problematic concept.)
