In some cases, yeah. I'm really interested in psychology right now, and it's hard to figure out how, exactly, to "try on" being a clinical psychologist. Given patient privacy concerns, you can't just sit in on a neuropsych assessment, for instance. But just yesterday, a friend was encouraging me to pick the brain of other people who'd gone through a clinical psych program and worked in the field. It's not the same as fully trying it on, but it's a way to gain at least *some* relevant information.
